Art Installation - Hong Kong Laundromat
aka Lavanderia Laundromat on Google Maps with 4.7 stars. It is the local laundromat that I visit every two weeks where I have befriended the two middle-age Chinese husband and wife duo who have ran this laundromat for over 20 years. Hundreds of fellow New Yorkers move through this space to do their laundry.
I approached them with an idea to design an art piece for their wall that would brighten up the space and bring people joy while they sit and wait for their clothes to dry.
I wanted to weave Beetlebob’s characters doing their thing along with the patrons of the laundromat.
The final piece would be wheatpasted on the wall.
